Map the old system
Every table in the legacy ERP was profiled and mapped to the new data model, field by field, with the people who use it every day.
Clean before moving
Duplicates were merged, units and part numbers normalized, and records that fit nowhere were flagged for the team to decide on.
Rehearse the move
Scripted, repeatable loads ran into a test environment again and again, until every run came back clean.
Reconcile, then switch
Record counts, stock and open balances were checked between both systems before cutover, so day one started from trusted data.
Outcome
The firm switched systems on a planned date, and every record in the new ERP can be traced back to where it came from.
